RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
RCIA is for non-Catholics seeking to follow Christ as Catholic disciples.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic, The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the normative process through which adult converts are welcomed into full communion with the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. The process consists of various rites, as well as weekly instructions, which typically culminate in the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil.

Classes for instruction in the beliefs and practice of the Catholic Faith are held August through May on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm in the Aquinas Room found on second floor of the Parish Center. Please call any time of year if you would like more information, as it may be possible for you to be recieved at a time other than the Easter Vigil.

Sacramental Education

Baptism Classes

Prior to receiving any sacrament in the Catholic faith there are classes to prepare the recipients, or their parents. The class is held in the Conference Room of the Parish Center (2nd floor) (There are no Baptisms celebrated during Lent).

St. Mary’s offers the gift of baptism on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at10:00am . Baptism Class is scheduled the first Sunday of each month in the Conference Room of the Parish Center from 12:30 to 1:30pm.

First Holy Communion/Reconciliation & Confirmation

Prior to receiving any sacrament in the Catholic faith there are classes to prepare the recipients. Children receiving Sacraments and their parents must attend these preparatory classes. Those in second grade may be eligible to receive their 1st Penance (Confession/Reconciliation) and 1st Holy Communion. Contact Jordan Tippett at jtippett@saintmarysonline.org for more details.

Those in eighth grade may be eligible to receive Confirmation. You must attend classes for Confirmation Candidates. Contact Jordan Tippett at jtippett@saintmarysonline.org for more details.

Marriage Preparation

Prior to receiving any sacrament in the Catholic faith there are classes to prepare the recipients for the reception of the Sacrament.

If you are getting married, please contact Fr. Cibelli at least six months prior to your wedding date.

There are several ways to spiritually prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony:

Pre-Cana is a set of classes for engaged couples. Couples must meet with the priest who will perform the ceremony before attending pre-Cana classes. Weekend Encounter for the Engaged – all preparation sessions are included in this weekend retreat. See above link for more information.
Sponsor Couples – a married couple will mentor an engaged couple during your preparation.
