Religious Education Ministries

Teachers, team teachers, discussion leaders, classroom helpers, group supervisors, and speaker coordinators are roles that teens and adults can be involved in education ministries. First, decide what age group, you might like to help with:

toddlers - NURSERY

Pre-K through 8th grade - CCD

6th through 12th grade - YOUTH MINISTRY

Young Adults (18-39) - YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

Adults - RCIA, BAPTISM PREP, PRE-CANA, or FAMILY MINISTRY

Service Ministries

Catholic Daughters of America

The Catholic Daughters Court 273 is open to all Catholic women 18 years and older who believe in the motto of unity and charity. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month (excluding summer months) in Fatima Hall of the Parish Center.

Knights of Columbus

fraternal organization of Catholic men serving the community through various religious and family centered activities; meets at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Leitersburg Pike at 8pm on 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month

St. Vincent de Paul

The St. Vincent de Paul Society provides for the material and spiritual well-being of the poor and needy, as well as the visitation of the sick. Volunteers are always welcome. Meetings are held on the first and thrid Tuesday of the month after the 8:30am Mass in the Conference Room of the Parish Center.

Home School Association (H.S.A.)

St. Mary Catholic School parents aid the connection between the home and the school by planning activities and fundraisers to benefit the students and the school.

Liturgy Committee

meets 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30pm in Conference Room to support the liturgical prayer life and to enhance the worship of God at St. Mary's

Maintenance Committee

Chairman: Dave Moats

Oversees the repairs and maintenance of Parish buildings and property. Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00pm in the Conference Room of the Parish Center. Anyone with knowledge in maintenance fields is welcome to join.

Mercy Committee

The Mercy Committee is designed to offer hospitality to grieving families at a time of loss. They help provide a luncheon at St. Mary's following funerals - which is a nice alternative to in-home or restaurant gatherings after St. Mary's funerals. If you would like to be part of this committee or are interested in utilizing its service, contact chairwoman Peggy Hurd or Linda Field.

the nursery is offered during the 11am Masses most Sundays; STAND trained adults and teens are needed to help staff

Parish Council

advisory board to aid the pastor in identifying and meeting the needs of the parish; each member's term is 2 years. Meets on the 3rd Monday of September, November, January, March, and May at 7pm in Fatima Hall of the Parish Center. All parishioners are welcome at the meetings. Respect Life Committee

Chair: Janet Neel

Volunteers are needed. The Respect Life Committee is devoted to educating and making a difference for the right to life, especially the weekest - the pre-born. They are active in praying at the Abortion Clinic in town as well as participating in the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. every January 22, and more. Meetings are held in the Conference Center of the Parish Center on the second Monday of every month at 7pm.

Tri-State Golden Age Club

Meetings and programs are offered  for seniors age 55 and over in Fatima Hall of the Parish Center on the third Sunday of the month 1-3pm (excluding summer months). The club is noted for their vacation bus trips as well as or day trips to dinner theaters. The Golden Age Club also does community service and gives financially to charity.

The Legion of Mary is a group of people committed to spiritual acts of mercy and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Anyone 18 or older may join. Meetings are every Friday at 9am in the St. John Bosco Youth Room.

This Junior Legion of Mary is suited specifically for St. Mary School students so that they may meet at a convenient time right after school. Meets are held every Tuesday 3-4pm in the St. John Bosco Youth Room.

Padre Pio Prayer Group

Everyone is welcom to join this prayer group that meets every Thursday 9-10am in the Church. Please enter by the side door by the courtyard gardens. For more information, contact Madeleine Bender or Jean Anders.

Secular Order of Mount Carmel

All are welcome to grow in Carmelite spirituality by studying the great Carmelite saints. Meetings are the third Sunday of each month in the St. John Bosco Youth Room 1-4pm.
